My girlfriend and I went last night to a dramatisation of the famous novel “The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time”. Mark Haddon’s well-loved book has been turned into a touching and brilliant play.
The first act of the play culminates in the central character, Christopher, undertaking a confusing and challenging journey alone. He travels for the first time beyond his own town, by train and tube to find his mother at a London address. When you know that Christopher is a 15 year old sufferer from Asperger’s Syndrome who doesn’t relate properly to other people and has trouble making sense of the world, you start to feel something of the courage and determination this took.
In the play, Christopher has an address for his mother, but no idea of how to get there. Less dramatically, that’s how most of us start off with internet marketing. We know our destination, making money, but don’t have a map of how to get there. There are of course many routes to success, but one of the more certain uses a very simple formula:
1. Have an offer of something people want;
2. Get an ever-increasing flow of visitors to that offer.
The best method I’ve found of following this map is with TE Profits.

I’ve recently returned from a week’s break in Central England where we stayed at a lovely spot on the shores of Rutland Water. This is a large, man-made lake which is home in the summer months to a rare bird, the Osprey. I think the Osprey has something to tell us about fishing for profits.
An osprey hunts for fish by hovering high above the lake. It’s keen eyesight allows it to spot a fish near the surface. Then it dives down headfirst towards the water. At the last second it extends it’s powerful claws, grabs the fish and heads off to a favourite perch to enjoy the meal.
This direct method contrasts with that of the fisherman who casts his line from the bank and waits for a nibble from a passing fish.
So it is with the different methods of surfing Traffic Exchanges and using keywords with SEO to get traffic to your offer. Traffic Exchanges are like the osprey: by viewing other sites you get guaranteed visitors to your own. With SEO, you wait for Google, Yahoo and Bing etc. to send you visitors. Both have their place in your set of techniques.
If you want to get the best out of Traffic Exchanges and leverage your efforts, take a look at TE Profits and be as successful as the osprey at directly fishing for profits.

Revelations about Prince Harry, third in line to the British throne, and
those naked photos are still reverberating around the UK press.
The decision of the UK Sun newspaper to publish was undoubtedly a good one for
their profits. But why is that? It’s because we live in a celebrity
culture where people are more interested in reading about other people’s
lives than in getting on with their own.
That’s a temptation for all of us, me included. But as Internet Marketers
we need to stay focused to succeed. Instead of moving from project to
project we should concentrate on giving people what they want.
If you use Traffic Exchanges as part of your advertising (and I recommend
you do so), then there is nothing better you can offer your fellow surfers
than… more traffic.
TE Profits is designed around that principle -

There is money to be made in the internet marketing niche, no doubt about that. But it is also one of the most competetive. Maybeit’s time to consider some alternatives.
Liz Tomey certainly thinks so, as she says in this post:
“Niche marketing in terms of finding good niches and either promoting existing products or creating your own for that niche is one of the best business models around.
Every day people are making a killing in tiny niche, big niches, and all the ones in between.
However, after a recent poll I did most of my readers think that you can only make money in the Internet marketing niche, and that couldn’t be any further from the truth.
I have products and/or promote products in over 30 different niches… All the way from vegan dieting plans to personal finance I play in tons of different niches.
I’m in the Internet marketing niche because I do so much marketing and new things that I would be insane not to share that with others. So that’s how you know me… Liz Tomey the Internet marketer.
But I do a lot more than that and so can you!”
She goes on to list 5 points to making money in any niche and promotes her coaching plan.

Are you using Twitter to promote your business? There are dangers – over-promotion of sales links can get your account banned. But in terms of getting visitors to your blog and potential subscribers, it has possibilities. This is what Lisa Stoops has found, somewhat to her surprise:
So I was looking at my analytics on this blog just to see what’s been happening over the last month or so since I have started trying to blog and connect with others on a regular basis (still working on that). I’ve also been trying to connect more on Twitter, Facebook, G+, etc. It’s hard to find the time…but again I’m trying LOL!
In times past, other people’s blogs would be the top referrers (and Google). However, over the past month or two I’m shocked because Twitter is the number three referrer for traffic to this blog (right under direct and Google/organic)! I’m shocked because Twitter has always been an afterthought for me! (more…)
Lisa says that it hasn’t been a major campaign, just say once a week, but her traffic from Twitter is growing. Food for thought.

That’s a common enough need or desire, isn’t it. Well here is Dain Lewis’s take on the subject:
Blog, blogging, blogger, and vlogging seem to be all over the internet right now.
If you’ve been on the internet for any time now, it seems like a lot of people are making money with their blog.
Making money with a blog can be hard to do. But once you understand the power of blog and how you can monetize it you’ll have cash rolling in fast.
The first thing you need to do if you want to make money with your blog is to understand your blog is not simply a place where you post your thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
It’s more than that.
Blogs that actually make money are more than just blogs.
They are a business…. (more)
He goes on to list and comment on 4 of the most popular strategies. I think he comes to the right conclusion, but you’ll have to vist his blog to see if you agree…

Over at DavidRisley.com, David has just conducted a survey and the results are surprising.
“SHOCKING: 56% of Bloggers Do No Email Marketing. Why Not?”
Sometimes, people like me can’t help but wonder why others read our advice and don’t actually apply it.
Case in point…
A recent survey I ran over the weekend shows that 56.4% of bloggers (at least in my audience) don’t engage in any kind of email marketing.
179 responses to that particular question – which isn’t bad since I did run this thing right over Easter weekend.
I was surprised by the result, though. (And, yes, the “shocking” part of the headline was a bit of an exaggeration. )
I’ve talked a TON about the importance of building a list. Whenever somebody has asked me about the one thing I wished I knew to do when I was first starting out, my answer is almost always that I wish I started my email list sooner.
And I’m BY FAR not the only person saying that. Almost any successful blogger or online marketer out there will tell you the same thing. Having an email list is about the most important thing you can possibly do online. And I KNOW you guys are reading other blogs besides mine.
David goes on to emphasise the tremendous benefits to be had from building a list then marketing to the people on it.
Time to take some action?

A recent article from dWorkFromHome.com reveals blog writing tips:
“Blogs are a great way for anyone to get their ideas across to others and a great way for businesses to do some free advertising. Creating a great blog is an excellent way to drive more traffic to your site. When building your site there certain tips a person should pay attention to when they are writing their blog.
“1. Write When you are writing your blog write it with your reader in mind. When a reader is looking for information that may pertain to your idea they want the information in a way that they can both read and understand easily.
“2. Valuable and Worthwhile With everyone busy life no one has time to waste to look at a boring site. If you cannot think of anything creative to talk about, then try to do interview, or even a book. Anything will do as long as you are not posting useless content.
“3. Proofread It is grave importance that you proofread your material before you push that post button. Once you push that post button that is it the error is out there and there is no way back. Respect your reader and keep your site free of errors and easy to read.

Here is an article looking at the uses of WordPress MU (multi-user) for the Blogging For Profit user:
What are the Differences between WordPress and WordPress MU?
WordPress is the free, wildly popular blogging platform that millions of bloggers use to power their blogs. Many web hosts offer a quick install script for WordPress that will allow you to have a blog set up and ready to receive fresh content in about 10 minutes or less.
WordPress MU, with the MU standing for multi-user, used to be a separately developed solution for setting up a network of blogs which allowed blogs to have multiple users each with their own dashboard and theme. But since the launch of WordPress version 3.0, all of the functionality of WordPress MU that was once separate has now been folded into the basic WordPress software. So, now there really is no difference between WordPress and WordPress MU as they are now one and the same product.
